PAIN in lower right side. What could it be?

I have been experiencing pain/ twinges in my stoach/ digestive area for years and have IBS.

The past week I have had a pain in my lower right side, maybe closer to reproductive area?
I have also had some pain in my back as well.

I am also getting a feeling of hunger even at times when I'm not and feeling hot and sweaty.

The pain has occured when I'ce coughed, opened my bowels, eaten, needed to open my bowels and sometimes - like now - its just there.

Any ideas what it could be.

Hi.
I have had this since November last year. My Dr thinks it is just my IBS causing problems. Are you having problems with your bowel movements at the moment? Constipation and straining can cause the pain in right side.
I had a scan to check the reproductive area and it was fine. Being refered to Gastro team now as it has gone on for so long.
Have you tried Buscopan? I find it helps me.
I suggest go and see your GP.

Is there any chance you could be pregnant? I just read this out to a friend as I have read this by chance. She is a nurse and said "she should make sure it's not an ectopic pregnancy".
I have no knowledge of this. Just repeating what she said.

I have a lot of that and have an ovarian cyst - go get it checked out

I do not have IBS but have had similar pains in my lower right side for the last couple of weeks. I assumed that they would be bowel or ovary related but when I went to my GP she diagnosed a tight hip muscle. She manipulated my leg to check this and gave me some stretches to do and told me to use volterol gel. Was a big relief - I was worrying about appendix or ovarian cysts.

Sorry, pressed too early.

I get recurrent Utis and my first symptom is always right illiac fossa pain, then followed by a temp, feeling hot and cold and backache. I don't get any burning, stinging when having a wee.

havepatience Definatly no way I'm pregnant. Wink

Thanks everyone for the replies. I came on my period the next day (a few days early) so could have been ovarian pain?

With regards to bowels I had loose bowels but still didn't feel I was emptying so could have been constipated. The stools I was passing very extremely aromatic! which I know can be a sign its been inside the digestive tract for too long. (sorry if TMI)

I am feeling better now but will definatly see if the pain occurs again and when in my cycle and how my bowels are at the time. I'll see GP if it continues.

viva I also had lower backache. If it was a UTI would it have cured itself?
