Can I put anything on my eyes to stop smoke affecting them, rather than treat afterwards?

I have to go through a load of smoke everyday (large fire burning for 3 weeks now) and everyday I spend the next hour looking like I am crying, even after applying eye drops.
Is there anything I can do to stop it affecting my eyes, beyond wearing safety glasses/goggles as I will be drivingGrin
