Vaginal stitching

My first son was a big baby (9lb 11!) and I tore pretty badly, obviously it was stitched up but it has never 'looked' the same since, theres bits hanging off etc (sorry if thats TMI!) but it kind of looks like two bits of skin have come apart (theres two bits of skin at either side just hanging loose). Im becoming extrememly concious of this (my eldest son is almost 7!) and my sex life is non existant.

Is this 'deformation' normal or has someone made a mistake somewhere??

Its probably best to ask a doctor to take a look if it is upsetting you so much. They can probably reassure you that everything is fine. Because it has been such a long time since it happened you would probably have to really emphasise the effect it is having on you emotionally if you wanted any kind of repair done. I have a 'flap' which may need to be cut off and a small hole which app will close up over time. The reason this happened with my episiotemy is that one of the stitches came apart - poss the same happened with you and it wasn't picked up on?
