Could you make an appointment with a homeopathic practioner?

Yellow pages should have some listed.

I did not take ads during my depression and I had cognitive therapy - it probably took longer for me than those that were on ads to feel more 'even' again, but 18 months on still no ads. Can your gp refer you?

my gp is a little old fashioned and doesnt seem to think that these methods will work, but i really dont want to go down the route of ads i know they work for some people, but i tried them six years ago and they done nothing for me. im just fed up with feeling so low and tired all the time

Another vote here for CBT, it's really great

with the risk of sounding a little stupid what would this involve?

How serious is your depression carly? St John's wort works for me but is only good for mild/moderate depression and you have to be careful if you're on the pill. Plus think you have to check if your on certain medications?

ususally you would be assigned a therapist who would get you to discuss the source of your issue and then build strategies with you on how to cope/tackle the situation.
I had a mixture of individual and group therapy and I still use the strategies.
