How do you get medicine into a 2mo?

Not urgent but how do yo get medication into a 2 mo? Tried to give my dd calpol after her jabs - she spat it out. Tried syringe, spoon and dropper. Now she is fine but want some tips for future so prepared if she needs it in middle of night/long haul flight etc?
Someone suggested dummy you fill - any ideas what these are called?

When really desperate with dd I used to put it her milk but then she was alot older, i stopped breastfeeding at 17 months but if your not breastfeeding it might work. I dont know if this has any effect on the medicine though but as I say desperate times and all that.

with a syringe and in really tiny amounts. dd had to have heart meds when she was a baby - it used to take forever as they tasted bad - 5 ml took 20 minutes to go in.
The easiest way to get paracetamol into a baby is with a suppository - not sure whether you can finally get paracetamol suppositories in the UK yet, but it's what countries on the continent use for babies.
Another thing to do is to buy Calpol 6+ - it's twice as strong so you only need to give 2.5 ml.

I can't remember what they're called, but you can get them at Boots and in many chemists. They'll be with teh rest of the baby stuff. I have a dropper that I got from Perfectly Happy People (can't remember the url, something obscure like www.thebabycatalogue.co.uk) which is much more comfortable and suck-able than an ordinary medicine syringe. If she won't suck the syringe or dropper, you can try giving it to her by placing the syringe in the side of her mouth, so that the medicine goes into her cheek. Because she has no teeth it will trickle between her gums and hopefully she will swallow it. Slow process, though! Alternatively, you could try diluting it in an oz or less of water and giving it to her in a bottle.

like prettycandles says, if you use a the syringe, direct it into her cheek, near the back of her mouth, with her lying down.

this has always worked pretty will with ds - it flows straight down their throat, so they can't push it out with their tongue.

If all else fails mix it into EBM or formula (depending on what your baby's tipple of choice is?)

Always wondered about the idea of calpol in the bottle-wasnt sure if I could do this, I used to give calpol to ds when he sucking on bottle - dh would stand ready with the spoon, we would count to 3 and I would remove the teat from ds mouth and dh would put spoon in ds mouth! Then quick as a flash - put the teat back in!
We had it down to an art!

we used syringes - could even give ds a dose during the night without waking him.

The dummy thing I thought was a great idea, but we didn't use dummy's in the end.

Just tried searching for it and can't find it - did see something called Ezmed (sp) which I think rings a bell
