STINKER of a BELLY BUTTON

Lorenz · 02/06/2011 13:17

My fucking belly button stinks like shit and I don't know what's causing it. I shower every day and sometimes it doesn't happen for weeks but then it comes back. Sometimes it's so bad I can smell it through my top. Nobody else has ever mentioned it but it's making me paranoid.

It smells like rotten flesh but if I stick my finger in there, its all gooey inside.

Any ideaS?

yep off to gp.
I had a little umbilical hernia - a tiny hole.
needed one stitch.

and yes to washing and drying it properly.

INeedNewShoes · 02/04/2017 22:47

I used to get this. I used savlon spray on it which cleared it up.

Very inny belly buttons can't be dried effectively (even with a cotton bud).

JamesDelaneysHat · 02/04/2017 22:50

This thread is 6 years old!!!

RedBugMug · 02/04/2017 22:51

oh man. shame the zombie warning dissapears after a awakening...

PerspicaciaTick · 02/04/2017 22:51

Don't put anything strong like anti-bac gel in there - it is like to make it worse and sore. Once you are happy it is clean and dry, a little sudacrem on a cotton bud might help it.

Teabagtits · 02/04/2017 22:52

A wee bit canesten on a cottonbud once or twice a week should help sort iti must admit I'm somewhat addicted to shoving my finger in my belly button and having a sniff. If I'm feeling generous I'll offer my finger around but no one seems as interested in its aroma.!

RNBrie · 02/04/2017 22:55

I really want the op to come back and update us on her 6 year old stinky belly button.

How in the world did this thread get reawakened?!? Who was searching for what on Google??!!

canadamouse · 02/04/2017 22:59

Well, it's made me choke laughing! But why the hell has someone bumped this?!

Imstickingwiththisone · 02/04/2017 23:01

FFS too funny that someone has been searching for people being mean about smelly belly buttons

user1487175389 · 02/04/2017 23:05

When I was pg, I was convinced my belly button was going to 'come undone'. Are you sure that hasn't happened to you?

EduCated · 02/04/2017 23:11

I do wonder sometimes how posters even find such threads to bump.

Does that make me a hater?

OverTheHammer · 09/09/2017 18:45

I get this sometimes, always have yet I don't sweat under the arms or in any of the normal places!

OverTheHammer · 09/09/2017 18:47

Where did the zombie warning go? Sorry guys grabs hard hat and heads for exit

LuluJakey1 · 09/09/2017 18:50

Diluted dettol, soak a cotton bud and dry, or lie flat and pour a bit onto it so it can soak and then dry, keep doing it morning and night for 3 days- advice from surgeon after laproscopic surgery when I got an infection in mine. Worked really well.

DuckOffAutocorrectYouShiv · 09/09/2017 18:52

Has a 13 year old schoolboy revived this thread Hmm

ZOMBIE THREAD FOLKS

GreggsSausageRolls · 09/09/2017 18:54

Try Savlon on a cotton bud too

DuckOffAutocorrectYouShiv · 09/09/2017 18:55

Ffs, am I invisible?!

THIS IS A THREAD FROM 2011 - 6 YEARS AGO

DogHair · 05/11/2021 08:50

Just found this after suffering with the same problem although mine is very sore too

AchyFlower · 05/11/2021 08:56

OH NOT THIS ONE AGAIN

Lazydaisydaydream · 05/11/2021 08:59

I absolutely love that this is the zombie thread that won’t die Grin why on earth hasn’t the op told us if her belly button fell off or not though?!

Etherealhedgehog · 05/11/2021 09:02

Oh, my BF had this! It was infected so definitely see the GP but also he had this thing where it had never fully healed from birth and, I think, slightly herniated, and needed cauterising. So if it's been this way for ages, or happens again after one course of antibiotics, you might want to ask about that

Badabingbadabum · 05/11/2021 09:03

It was an inny, it couldn't fall off! Grin

LettertoHermoine · 05/11/2021 09:05

I was going to have a fry for breakfast, you have just saved me the calories OP, thank you!

Topbird29 · 05/11/2021 09:09

You could try popping a bit of canestan cream in using a cotton bud. Only after washing out and throughly drying out first - again cotton buds (used gently) should be your friend here.

Topbird29 · 05/11/2021 09:10

Ha ha - didn't see was a zombie thread! Hope it got better!
