I'm bleeding between periods. What could it be?

Is very annoying.
I cane offf of the pill because of this and was fine for about 3 months, but now it's started again.
I have a full period am then fine for a few days, but then get on/off bleeding again until my next full period (regular).

I should get it checked with gp shouldn't I?

Yes - I think a GP visit would be useful. Just to rule out anything to worry about.

Yes. I had a smear just over a year ago which came back fine.

I had this and had it checked out.

Keep a record of when in your cycle it happens and for how long.
