Hi,
DS (8 months) has been teething for months with no sign of first tooth but today his gum is 'cut' and I wondered how long it will be before tooth appears or is the answer 'as long as a piece of string'?????

you may be lucky and it might appear sooner rather than later!
my ds is 9 months and has been dribbling like mad since he was about 5 months old. he had a tooth almost through but it went back again. apparently it's called rumbling or something!

I really hope so, it just affects them so much doesn't it. He too has been dribbling since he was 5 months and chewing on anything he can shove in his mouth so I really thought this was it .
He is absolutely full of snot, has a really nasty cough, waking every 2 hours through the night (having previously sleeping through for 12 hrs - I know i'm lucky) so I just feel really sorry for him.

It really is like a piece of string. DD in exact same situ. I can see the tip of the tooth just nesting under the gum, but each day passes without it popping thru.

It will arrive in all it's glory soon & not alot we can do to help I'm affraid!
