What the heck has happened to the end of my nose !??

The cartalidge (sp?) at the tip of my nose seems to have changed on one side (and bope I haven't been lying). It's hard to explain but seems to have grown out a bit and there is a burst blood vessel above on the skin.

Further up it's slightly swollen too on that side so there's no indent around my nostril.

I think it's been like this a little while but is getting worse. What is this all about and should I see a GP. Sometimes the tip of my nose goes quite red too (weirdly sometimes when I have a headache, always in the same place above my neck). What's going on?

can't imagine what the cause is but if it is getting worse, you must go and find out what the trouble is

i would definitely see a GP. no idea what it might be but it sounds very odd

carolemiddleclasston · 21/05/2011 22:25

It is a very slow change but it definitely didn't use to be like this and seems strange. I can feel a distinct difference on that side versus the other one. Before this week I thought a GP would be dismissive and not take me seriously but there's more difference now and the burst blood vessel above.

Thanks for replying any more ideas?

Could it be rosacea?

omaoma · 21/05/2011 22:42

I once worked with someone who had a visibly reddened nose-tip (almost like a bruise) that was over sensitive and painful - turned out to be something to do with a nerve ending. Could be something similar?? def get yourself to the gp, always better to be safe than sorry

Possibly rosasea but the cartilege seems to have grown too unless that's the thickening of skin they refer to.
Will see what the GP says - hope they don't just fob me off.
