Swelling in neck.

I woke up two days ago with what felt like a bruise on my neck, just under my ear on my jaw, felt a small lump there. The next day I woke up and it was more painful and larger and today even more so.

Can someone reassure me please, should I go to A&E or just wait till Monday. The pain is not unbearable, I googled fool that I am and I am feeling quite scared.

Would something serious come up that quickly? Is it likely to be an infection of some kind? Never had anything like this before in my life.

go to GP on Monday -isn't an Emergency IMO

Thanks, it is quite painful, is that normal for a cyst or swollen gland?

I had something similar on my neck a few years ago. It was a pulled muscle, started sore, got bigger and then eased after 3-4 days, went completely within about a week.

I just re-read and see its on your jaw, so maybe not a muscle. I also have a small cyst on my jaw, its pea size and no-one could ever see it but I can feel it. Its mainly hard but from time to time it gets bigger and sore. It comes and goes. Nothing to worry about.
