My 19 month old has had a cold and been irritable for about a week, I also caught the cold and sore throat laster in the week. I think Hubby has too.

Anyway last night she wouldnt sleep and kept itching her legs (she has had eczema problems so I out it down to that) but this morning I noticed some red spots on her legs and around her mouth. I thought it was probably just a cold sore and maybe a few insect bites on her legs but over the past couple of hours she has developped some on her arms and hands too but there dont seem to be any yet on her trunk.

They are not in clusters and and slightly raised red bumps and the ones from last night on her legs seem to have dried up or scabbed over. They almost look like insect bites though.

Wouldnt CP usually start on the trunk though?
Any ideas?

She is asleep at the moment having a nap oterwise I would take a picture.

It sounds to me like chicken pox..go get some calamine cream and calpol and a big shopping in. and a good couple of books. You wont be out untill the scabs crust over. she'll be grizzly for the next few days and will prob need lots of cuddles and have a high temperature. Best of luck xx

Thanks Clara,
I actually just took her to the chesmist and they said they didn't think it looked like chicken pox, but it did look like some kind of a virus so we are going to see what happens and if it gets worse or not. x
