MAS, hope you can sort out your aches and they don't hang about too long.

Happy Birthday to your DS, Smee, You deserve lots of Brew after your 6am start.

KK, the prison job sounds really interesting. I'm sure your DS will enjoy it.

Last year we called our garden the "Bird Bermuda Triangle". For weeks it seemed we were finding dead birds. Several seemed to have just dropped out of the sky. We were also plagued by a sparrowhawk that swooped down every now and then and left behind a trail of destruction. I think a neighbouring cat managed to find two of the baby blackbirds which was such as a shame as we've got lots of sheltered little spots for them to hide but they weren't quick or clever enough. It all seems to have stopped now thank goodness.

Following FEC yesterday, managed to last till 10pm before feeling/being sick. Have taken all my tablets this morning and just feel a bit queesy. It's a real headache trying to fit all the tablets in, spacing them out a little. I took the anti-sickness first, my anti-biotic, then the 4 steroids with a banana and half a pear even though I didn't feel like eating. I'm still in my dressing gown and plan on having a lazy day.

If anyone's on Facebook and would like to play Scrabble with me - I usually play the one day games, much more relaxed - please let me know who you are on FB and I will befriend you.

cakesandale · 26/05/2011 12:02

Figgy, take it steady. There are so many pills I used to get confused about what to take, and when.

I am not on FB - sorry. I hope someone pops along who is.

The circus sounds a good option, smee. DD originally wanted to take a handful of people to the zoo and be keepers for a day, but then she said she was a party animal and needed to party with lots of people. Hmm I blame the lifeguards at the pool really - they make a real pet of her and, on Friday nights, while we are drinking meeting up with friends in the bar, they let her play lifeguard in the wet and wild sessions. They have even given her her own whistle. She seems to be the only kid allowed poolside if they are not swimming - I still haven't got to the bottom of why that is, I keep asking but get no straight reply from any of them.

smee · 26/05/2011 12:06

She sounds fantastic, Cakes. Charmed them all by the sound of it.

Figgy, what anti-sickness drugs did they give you this time?? Keep asking them for different ones if they're not working. There's lots you can try.

I've pm'd you as I'm on Facebook. Don't use it much, but it's been good for freelance work people/ keeping in touch.

smee · 26/05/2011 12:07

Topsy, have you heard back from Surgeon yet??

cakesandale · 26/05/2011 12:21

Have you noticed that the recipe of the week (eyes right, ladies) is strawberry gateau cake???? Yum!!!!

MaryAnnSingleton · 26/05/2011 12:32

I love dd's invitations being handmade- bless her ! though can see how you'd be a little weary by now Grin Swimming party sounds fun. Am not keen on circuses simply because I was taken to one when I was very ill before my spleen was removed and I associate them with feeling bad. Also clowns are seriously creepy Grin
Sorry to hear you have been queasy figgy Sad
I am hopeless at playing any games on facebook, but would like to befriend smee and figgy so will pm you both !! RWU is on fb too.

KurriKurri · 26/05/2011 12:36

Sorry the sickness has reappeared Figgy, what a pain, - I hope the tablets kick in soon.
Sorry I'm not on FB but the scrabble sounds fun. You definitely deserve a lazy day (or two or three......Smile) take things easy.

Cakes the more I hear about your DD, the more I am convinced she will go far in this world Smile

Lego ninjas sound good Smee, - as do electronic drumsticks - I think I might ask for some of those for my birthday Grin

That cake looks rather nice (why did you have to point it out Cakes? - you know I have zero will power Grin), its very easy to make as well- no cooking.

cakesandale · 26/05/2011 12:42

It's no cooking??? I'm there....

Clowns are very, very creepy, I agree MAS.

I hope you all have a good time FB-ing each other. Fill us in if we miss anything good.

How nice of you to say dd will go far, KK. I hope she does, and that she remembers her decrepit old parents when she does so....

MaryAnnSingleton · 26/05/2011 13:54

just heard that my mindee has been walking around with a fractured arm for the last few weeks Shock !! she's just had an x ray -apparently it's healing itself, but I imagine they may need to re set it so it grows properly- eek. She was fine, just had a wee lump on her wrist. Her older brother broke his arm and that was very obviously fractured- in a faint-worthy way. Poor girl.

OP posts:
cakesandale · 26/05/2011 13:57

Crikey! Wasn't it sore?

The idea of having to have it re-broken and re-set makes me a bit nauseous.

amberlight · 26/05/2011 14:04

Eek re broken arm situation!

Not feeling too bad at all two days after Tax 1. I dare say it'll hit me hard at some stage, but enjoying this bit very much.

Afternoon all - who's for a Brew?

MaryAnnSingleton · 26/05/2011 14:04

it was sore and swollen, then went down, but was a bit twingy from time to time.

OP posts:
MaryAnnSingleton · 26/05/2011 14:05

I'll have a Brew amber- thanks- glad you are feeling good- hope it continues !

OP posts:
cakesandale · 26/05/2011 14:13

Brew for me too, please, amber!

I am so glad taxol is OK so far. Surely it would have hit you by now if it was going to be bad?

Poor little kid. How did she do it?

smee · 26/05/2011 14:17

No time for a Brew, as have to run to shops before picking up DS. Got to make birthday cake tonight as we'll have it tomorrow when DH gets home. Jelly and Ice cream is today's treat. Smile

Amber, great to hear you're feeling okay. Long may it continue..

MAS, ouch. How amazing that she wasn't more upset.

I'm not a clown fan either, but the ones we saw weren't creepy at all, more slapstick with minimal make-up. One was an astoundingly good trumpet player.

amberlight · 26/05/2011 14:25

I think docetaxel is a bit of a sneaky one - quite a few people say the first few days are a doddle, then it hits you like a truck. We'll see... Grin

KurriKurri · 26/05/2011 14:28

did someone say Brew?

I'm glad your feeling good Amber - I hope it continues for you Smile

Poor little girl MAS, - I hope it heals up well - how did she do it?

It is raining hard here and very dark - there is still a bastard magpie trutting about on my lawn though.

cakesandale · 26/05/2011 14:45

Oh dear Sad I hope the truck stays away amber. How unfair to be getting on happily with life and then get flattened.

We have had hail here, but oddly still lots of bird action. Have to feed the little 'uns, I guess, no matter what. A blue tit just flew into our patio doors, quite hard. Frightened the bejasus out of me.

We went to the circus a few months ago, smee - just me, dd and her mate. There was only one clown and he was talented and creep-free too. Until he spoke. He had a very porn star accent (this was the Netherlands State Circus and you know what the Dutch are like Wink ). The kids absolutely LOVED him, but I kept expecting him to get his wrench out.

my cousin's dd ran off to join the circus, just last year. Apparently she is a dancer and, during her first ever performance, one of the other dancers whipped her top right off, by accident Grin

MaryAnnSingleton · 26/05/2011 14:45

oh jelly and ice cream !! I love jelly
I think she must've done it when he brother accidentally trod on her arm- this was ages ago-she had an elasticated bandage on as they thought it was a sprain..but she has been fine-doing PE and dancing club at school etc.

OP posts:
cakesandale · 26/05/2011 14:50

Yikes! She must have some pain threshhold!

Bloody hell, the heavens have just opened here, it's like the end of the world. And just at school run time, as usual Angry

MaryAnnSingleton · 26/05/2011 15:07

please let ds return with PE kit

DH has just sent me details of a conversation he had in Tesco

'Me (DH) "Can I have £10 cash back? £5 and 5x £1 would be good"
Tesco "I don't think I've got a £5 note"
Me "I saw one in the till, there" pointing
Tesco "I've only got one"
Me "What are you keeping it for?"
No Answer '

DH has a lot of convos like that Grin
