Sex before a smear?

I'm getting a smear done on Friday but seem to remember vaguely that you shouldn't have sex for a certain number of days before. Am I remembering this right? And if so, how long before was it?

it's okay if you use condoms but not if they leave a lot of evidence behind!

That's the thing. We're ttc so condoms wouldn't really be that helpful ;)

It's not usually a problem - there would have to be lots of sperm to prevent the lab being able to read the sample. May be not just before though eh

i have never heard this, i had sex the night before my last smear. no problems.

Phew, because I'm really fertile today .
And also if it was THAT important, surely the nurse would have mentioned it...

Sorry, that should say, I'm feeling really fertile today. I have no idea if I really am but have been lusting after men of the street all day .

Get thee a shag then, and just have a bath before you go in the morning to get rid of any 'evidence'.
