Irregular bleeding 5/6 weeks after birth

I stopped bleeding about 2 weeks after giving birth but then 3 weeks later have started bleeding again on and off, fresh red blood, not old blood...does anyone know what this could be? I told my dr at 6 week check that I'd started bleeding again but we put it down to freak early period (im breastfeeding so wasn't expecting one for ages!), but since then it keeps coming and going every day or so (only really light not heavy blood loss!), so period theory is out! Thanks for any advice x

Seek medical advice again asap. Any such changes warrant further investigation.

Hmm just phoned docs and they haven't got any appointments this week, bugger! Will try calling again tomorrow. Any ideas what the prob could be anyone?

Didn't want to leave this one unanswered. I had the same problem and it was just an infection. Apparently quite common after giving birth, esp if you had medical interventions. All sorted out quickly and easily with antibiotics.
