Hi all
thats it really, its like an achy boob and im worried about breast cancer. I have a 7 month old who I am breast feeding and its not mastitis as I had that when she was 3 weeks so I know how awful that can be. The flow seems fine and when I feed her it seems to feel like I can feel it really coming out but all day the achiness comes and goes. Ive had it about a week now. Can anyone put my mind at rest please?

First off,try not to panic -achy breasts are unlikely to mean b cancer. To set your mind at rest you really should just check in at the doctors.

oh that's a relief - it might just be hormonal changes- no advice to offer though- did the doc not have any advice ?

I'm not breast feeding but had an achy boob for a few months & it terrified me the pain also radiated into my armpit. My GP couldn't find any lumps but referred me to the breast clinic & I had a mammogram which thankfully is clear. The doc at the breast clinic said it could be hormonal & advised taking 1000g of evening primrose, by the way one of my boobs is slightly bigger & tends to swell mid cycle so I'm sure theres nothing to worry about esp as your still breast feeding hun. Good thing is you have been to see your GP & been checked over :)

thanks u two.
She said it was hard to say what it is until ive stopped breatfeeding. my right boob has always been slightly bigger but it feels more at he mo.Having said that I came on today so wondered if it could be that? I wasnt sure whether to ask to be referred to the breast clinic as a matter of routine?
