Contraception - mini pill experiences?

My relationship with contraception is shit, I get very sore if using condoms, put on over a stone in weight with the depo injection thing and turned into a crazy psyco serial killer on the normal pill.

I have been recommended the mini-pill as it doesn't make you fat, doesn't turn you nuts and is very effective - any experiences before I speak to the nurse?

I just stopped using it after it gave me severe head aches. I know exactly how you feel, I have litteraly tried it all! pop was my last chance.
I have come to the conclusion that hormone based contraception just isn't for everyone.
I would love to have the copper coil (no hormones) but have a heart shaped womb and fell pregnant the last time i had one simply because it didn't fit in propperly, it may be an option for you though?
I don't know how anyone can enjoy sex with condoms, personaly I would rather not do it at all!
I am left trying to convince my partner to get the snip, wish me luck.
I hope you can find something that suits, I know how fraustrating the search can be! xx

I took the mini-pill (cerazette) for a year, and I just found I'd go 3 or 4 months without a period, and then I'd have a period lasting 4 or even 5 weeks straight. It was better than sodding microgynon, but I much preferred Yasmin. (Had to stop taking dual pill because my boobs wouldn't stop growing - yes, really) Good luck!

Ive been taking Cerazette for about 4 years now and its the best contraception Ive tried. Ive had no side effects that I know of, I only have a period every 5/6 months (which is fine with me!lol) and when me and my husband decided to try for a baby it only took two months after coming off cerazette for us to conceive. It sounds like everyone is different and the only way to find out if its the right thing for you is to actually try it :) Good luck!

I've been on Microgynon and didn't have any problems. Am now on Cerazette and other than getting a few spots (nothing major) it's fine too. But I seem to be in the minority of having no problems, reading other threads on here!
