Bug or jet lag?

I've just come back from 10 days in Gauteng, South Africa, staying with my DP and his family. A couple of days before we left two of his family members caught a bug which was a bit fluey, sore throats and generally feeling like crap. We flew back yesterday overnight 11 hours to Amsterdam and another hour to the UK. On the first flight I felt pretty nauseous, was sick a few times but felt better. Second flight I was fine. Now I'm back home and I feel terrible! Have slept a lot and have been drinking a lot of fluids cos I was quite dehydrated on the long haul flight but I'm feeling like I've got a horrible migraine and still nauseous. I'm not sure if it's the altitude change too, Johannesburg is about 1700m above sea level!!

Thank god I'm not back at work until Thursday Grin

Is it malarial there? Or any places you passed through?

If it doesn't settle rapidly, go to your GP. Chances are it's a random bug, but if it could be a tropical disease, then you need proper medical advice.

Thanks for the advice med. I'm still feeling crap so am going to go to the docs tomorrow. I know I was stung by something on holiday at an animal park as I pulled the (tiny) stinger out myself, but it wasn't a mosquito. It was too cold for mosquitos. Thought maybe I was dehydrated but have drunk the equivalent of a large paddling pool today and still got a headache!
