Anybody had any experience of Orthorexia, my CBT Counsellor has suggested that i am a sufferer. I ve been told i have an eating disorder, but as its not weight related i wont accept it. I have def control issues and that rolls into my food consumption, but i dont know anything about Orthorexia.

Orthorexia is apparently quite a new phenomenon, where the sufferer becomes over preocupied with food and it being "healthy" or "good" or safe. Common to be worried about food contamination.

To be fair from what ive read on the issue it appears to be a form of anorexia, rather than a seperate issue, but also a form of OCD or anxiety around food.

Controlling food, being worried about food etc usually leads to drop in food consumption and then to anorexia I would guess.

I would go back and ask the therapist to explain it to you and ask what led them to that conclusion.
