My hubbie had an xray done on his leg last week as he has been having problems with his leg since about October last year.(he has an old wound which he's had for over 20 years in the same leg but we thought everything was okay for about the last 10 years after various operations.)
He's lost alot of weight recently and has been unusually grumpy and hot tempered. The consultant told him to have some xrays done and took some blood tests-for which we have not had the results yet.Apparently, the xray showed "shadows" on the upper part of his leg and the consultant then made arrangements for him to have a bone-scan next week.He was told that he appears to have an infection in the bone but i'm terrified that it's something more sinister than that. Can anyone throw some light on this for me.I'm not coping too well with the waiting...and I can only imagine how he must be feeling inside right now although he doesn't let it get in the way of his work.Thankyou.

I'm afraid I can't add anything practical to what it might be (I'm not medical) but couldn't let post go unanswered.

The only thing I would say is that the waiting is the hardest part and you will get very frustrated. Try to gear yourself up for this: the Drs won't tell you anything until they have all of the information and that can seem like a very long time, whatever that information is. DD is just in remission from cancer and I go extremely frustrated at the beginning as we wanted answers immediately. I wish someone had been straight with us and told us it will take weeks rather than expecting results straight away. Psyche yourself up for a longer timeframe so you can cope with any missed deadlines.

Good luck, keep us posted.
