Crippling ovulation pain

Am a newcomer to these pages, and am not sure what the etiquette is like, so forgive me if this is not quite how things are normally done.

I have been getting BAD ovulation pain in recent days. Maybe not quite crippling, but pretty damn bad frankly. Since my last miscarriage (Jan) I have been getting ovulation pain that is more akin to period pain. Lasts for two-three days, stabbing pain in the lower abdomen, sometimes left, sometimes right. It's accompanied by bloating, back pain and a few cramps on one day. Not pleasant, however am reluctant to go to the doctor as am sick to the back teeth of being patronised and told that it's all just normal and fine. This is not normal for me. Anyone with any ideas? I've tried upping my magnesium intake, which has ironically helped with my period pains, but the ovulation pain is on the up and up. :(

Am very sorry you're going through this.

Ovulation pains should not be so crippling and this may be unrelated to ovulation. It could well be connected to your miscarriage.

I would be asking your GP to refer you to a gynaecologist asap as such problems are outside a GPs remit of understanding. If GP remains unhelpful change GP practice. Do not let yourself be fobbed off, such pains should not be put up with.

Any such changes should always be checked out medically by a gynae.

Until you are seen by a gynae keep a pain and symptoms diary daily; this can also give the gynae clues.

Thanks for the advice. Was heading towards this conclusion... sigh. I hate going to the bloody doctor.
