Ouch, the knee hurts

Hi All,

I tripped over dd's scooter today (about 1pm), and fell onto the edge of the schooter with me knee, before seeming to bounce of that onto the floor (carpet over concrete).

I can barely put weight onto the leg, and cannot straighten the leg at all. The pain is constant, though worse when trying to move the knee joint(if that makes sense). The pain is pretty severe at the back of the knee, along with being just literally under the knee bone area, steeming into my shin.

Rang NHS direct for advice on pain relief as the pain is getting worse and , who informed me that it is worth getting it checked out in A and E, but I can't get there until the morning, yet on the phone they said it was pretty urgent to get it checked.
They didn't say what it could be though.

Does anyone have any idea with what this could be, and whether I can wait until the morning (don't like hospitals emotion)
