noddyholder · 08/11/2005 17:20

Are there any post transplant patients in the hospital who could come in to chat to hom and give him a bit of a boost?

sunchowder · 08/11/2005 17:20

Sorry to hear this Misdee, I can understand why he would want to give up, but he just can't. Hopefully he is just having a weak moment and needed to talk to you like this so that to two of you can be closer. Tomorrow is a new day. Lots of nice suggestions here from everyone. He must get this transplant, he must hold on and I am sure that he will with your support and the support of the hospital staff and friends, etc. I will be thinking of you both.

lucycinco · 08/11/2005 17:35

I'd love to send him a card! Where shall we send it too?

BudaBabe · 08/11/2005 17:41

Oh Misdee. I can't imagine what you are both going through.

It would be more surprising if he didn't have days like this though.

I can send a post card from Budapest! Where do I send it to?

Hope things get better.

RTKangaMummy · 08/11/2005 17:49

Oh Misdee I don't know what to say

Is there any chance of him having a laptop in with him so he can email his friends etc.?

And so there won't be any problem with infection. With visitors I mean.

LadySherlockofLGJ · 08/11/2005 18:03

Brilliant idea

He could become one of the MN dads IYSWIM.

Kanga you are a genius.

Blandmum · 08/11/2005 18:04

If he can access the internet, can we think of some fun sites to look at....other than MN natch?

MarsLady · 08/11/2005 18:05

So.... where shall we send the cards and letters of encouragement? (Or kick up the arse notes lol)

SoupDragon · 08/11/2005 18:10

Yes, loads of women are thinking of him and will be very very cross with him. And as we're all mothers, we're very very good at being very very cross...

champs · 09/11/2005 12:47

oh misdee, sorry to hear this. he's bound to feel like this, also fighting an infection can make him feel even worse.

the idea of cards, tapes and laptop are great.

a few other ideas are for peter to:
get dressed out of PJ's in day if poss;
comb hair, has hosp got hairdresser and or therapists that visit?
write letters to catch up with outside friends

champs · 09/11/2005 12:51

i know it may sound odd but they can help give a feeling of upliftmentthe more i type the more i feel like it can be taken wrongly, hope you know what i mean.
