I've apparently torn lots of soft tissue in my back... hideously painful. This is day 3, any (more) suggestions for me please?

I know better, but stupid of all stupidity, I picked up 5yo dd and rotated about 110 degrees. Thick or what? GP reckons I've torn "everything" as I'm a bit of a skinny build, and the injured lower back is the site of an old injury. Can't sit, lie, stand, bend, ohhh...Blush
got anti inflamatory meds and tiger balm!

I sprained an ankle many years ago, insist that she rests it. (haha I am good at giving advice but don't take my own suggestions, lol) Elevate whenever possible / practical. My mother's been round with the arnica, and if it's going to get plastered on my back then you could try it on your dd's ankle!

I sprained my back really badly in January. Ice is the best thing in the first few days - I have one of those hot/cold packs that you can freeze or microwave, and applied it frozen for 20 minutes at a time, as often as necessary - it does help to ease the pain a bit. Sorry to tell you, it took about 8 weeks to get back to normal, and I'm wary of doing anything that might trigger it off again! I also took Voltarol Pain-eze tablets and Ibuprofen, though they didn't seem to make a lot of difference.

It took at least a week before I began to feel any improvement.

Hope you feel a lot better soon, and I feel your pain!

Purplep I am your daughter! I cut a plaster cast off aged 16 coz I just wanted to play Netball!!
Screwed my ankle good and proper falling down stairs so doc plastered it.
It took hours with garden sacatuers and I did play Netball. Still do 20 years later! Have to tape to rotten ankle tho!!!
