i was just wondering if any MNers had any experinance with HCM?
Today 5 years ago my then 13 year old DS had open heart surgery to cut away nearly 2 inches of extra muscle in his heart and at the same time had a defibrilator fitted.
Since that day we have had no problems with his illness.He takes 2 tablets of inderal in the morning.
But the most wonderfull thing is going from hospital appointments every 6 weeks to having 2 appointments per year.
Before the operation he was very small and sickly ,but afterwards he just shoot upwards and filled out.ONe drawback is that he now thinks he is invincible.
