My DS has bronchitis and has generally been had colds for 7 weeks. I haven't taken him out at all for 3 days (this is his 4th day on antibiotics). Do you think I should just avoid going out at all for non-essentials still? I can't get in to see GP til this afternoon but was supposed to be seeing another friend with a baby this afternoon. Would you cancel?

Would defo see GP so he can listen in to chest and reasses that A/B are effective.
Could you not move your play date to an earlier or later time?
I would go out if you feel happy with it, fresh air is good.

Would do same as Donbean, meself...wrap up warm, go out, but see GP for assessment. Hope he's on the mend, poor love!

Thanks, have cancelled the social as thought best. Seeing GP instead. Don't want it turning into pneumonia or anything. Sorry to be melodramatic but he just doesn't seem to be able to shift any colds.

Not melodramatic! Good for you, hopefully you'll get good news and sleep easy. If its any consolation, everyone told me that the first 'full' (ie not b'feeding) winter is the worst, and it gets better - they were RIGHT. I think your DS is normal. Non-stop colds and bugs from September to April last year for DD (who is nearly 2), two small colds so far this winter - much much better. (Sorry, thats not such great news really, is it....will be next year, though...)

xx

Thanks Elibean- it has been horrendous this autumn. You made me feel better as DS was a new year baby so has experienced the coldest months before- he seemed cold-free then though. I have to say though, I hope for some respite (sp) between now and April. x
