My boobs hurt.

Usually v tender pre-menstrual but at the moment they're sore as hell all the time. Area round nipple feels bruised - I hit the roof if cuddling DC and they jab an elbow into me. Can't feel any lumps or bumps, beyond the normal, just unsure why they're so tender. def not pregnant. Any thoughts?

I have terrible pain in my left breast, it's been like it a while my Dr couldn't feel any lumps and suggested I wait a month as she thought it could be hormonal. One month on I still have pain which radiates under my armpit & left arm. I went back to the Dr and saw a locom she examined me and said there isn't any lumps but I have been suffering with anxiety since Jan this year & she thinks it could be that. I jsut don't understand how anxiety can cause so much pain & it's only on the left side. Anyway she had referred me to the breast clinic to get checked out. I am worried tbh especially having to wait for an appt. Oh the Dr also said that sometimes pmt gets worse as women get older (Great :-()

Thanks Candy, poor you, sounds v painful. Mine's fairly localised, above/around nipple - but it's interesting that you mentioned anxiety: we had a pretty awful family trauma in January when DS1 was critically ill in Gt Ormond St - I guess it's inevitable that I'm experiencing some post-traumatic anxiety. Hadn't connected that to boob hurting though. Might mention it to GP when I'm next there, but as no lumps I won't rush down there. Hope yours gets better.

It's surprising how the body reacts to any sort of stress, Maybe go & get checked out if it persists hun just for peace of mind. :-)
