OK, I meant to post this this morning but didn't get round to it. If there are any other Fibromyalgia/CFS/ME people here tonight/before 10am Weds can you let me know what you think.

I had the idea the other night that if I'm exhausted and can't concentrate enough to follow simple instructions then surely the answer might be to take Ritalin or similar tablets.

I Googled and it's being tried in research and in practice! Has anyone here asked their GP and what was the reaction please? Or do you think it's a good idea?

I saw the GP today, locum though not my usual one who is, to be honest, a better listener and a much more experienced doctor.

After a general discussion about my fibromyalgia and back pain which is a bit of a different sort of pain but doc didn't have any ideas, I asked about the Concerta/Ritalin for CFS. She said no straight away, not "approved" for anything except ADHD. I said I wished I had the energy to by hyperactive and asked if she could diagnose me with ADD anyway. "Not if you've got Fibromyalgia" she said. Grrr!

Pretty pointless excursion all round Sad

ask to see a rheumatologist and they will do different blood tests from the standard ones that gp's do. they may find what is causing your problem.

i felt the same and he did RF, ANA, scl70 and urinalysis.
