Recurring thrush between mum and baby

Hi Ladies,

Wonder if you can help me. I have a friend with a 9 week baby girl who has problems with recurring thrush. The mum has had a problem with thrush and had awful problems with breastfeeding and pain due to it. The baby also has thrush and they seem to be passing it back and forth between each other.

Doctor has given the mum medication and the baby has had drops. Breastfeeding got better for mum ad she thought it had cleared but the baby has now had it come back again and mum is worried it will be passed back to her and she will experience the painful breastfeeding again.

Doctor wont give mum any more medication and drops dont seem to be working for baby.

Has anyone had this experience? If so how did you resolve it and have you any tips? Any advice would be really appreciated thanks!
