Help! Does this sound like an ectopic pregnancy?

mosschops30 · 20/04/2011 17:34

ive been to the octors this afternoon, had nausea all day and severe stomach pain.
Almost collapsed with the pain in supermarket which then went round my back too.
Went to dr and he thinks it could be IBS but told me to buy a pregnancy kit to rule out an ectopic pg.

Since coming home ive been ick, had diarrhoea and now vaginal bleeding.
Not sure what i should do?

I dont have much experience so dont really know. Yor dr doesnt sound very helpful, surely it would of been better if he did a test. When was your last period? Might be worth ringing nhs direct or going to emergency docotor for second opinion

Bohica · 20/04/2011 17:41

The doctor should have tested you there & then! Did you buy a test?

I've had a couple of eptopics & the pain started sharply in my stomach & then went into my back.

mosschops30 · 20/04/2011 18:09

I dont have periods as i have the mirena in.
The pain was on my rigjt side then radiated round to my back, it was so bad i could hardly walk.

You should go to A&E mosschops, it's best to get it checked out. All they need to do is a pregnancy test and an ultrasound.

ChocolateCoveredlissielou · 20/04/2011 18:13

A&E please. now.

it may not be, but those ARE the symptoms and your doctor should have done a test there and then.

IngridBergman · 20/04/2011 18:14

You could have a problem with the mirena, as well. It could be that but please don't wait any longer, just go and tell them what you told us. Hope you are Ok soon x

BertieBotts · 20/04/2011 18:16

Astounded that the doctor didn't do a test here too.

Yes go to A&E - pain that almost made you collapse isn't good!

Good luck.

Bohica · 20/04/2011 18:33

Hope you have gone to A&E.

mosschops30 · 20/04/2011 18:42

Dh has just gone to get a test, i presume if ots negative then im in the clear.

if you start feeling dizzy and/or get shouldertip pain that gets worse when you lie down call 999. its an unmistakable pain. whenever i read about it I couldnt imagine it, but as soon as i felt it i was like... "ahhhhh shit"

IngridBergman · 20/04/2011 18:58

Moss I wondered about the mirean having shifted about or maybe caused an infection, that would possibly produce these symptoms - a pregnancy test doesn't necessarily mean anything.

IngridBergman · 20/04/2011 18:59

Sorry for typos.

What I mean is even if test is negative you need to be seen urgently. That severity of pain is not normal nor is the bleeding and accompanied by the other stuff I think it's safe to say you need seeing tonight.

mosschops30 · 20/04/2011 19:00

Test is negative

ChocolateCoveredlissielou · 20/04/2011 19:02

agree with ingrid. please go to A&E.

mosschops30 · 20/04/2011 19:02

I dont want to go to a&e, i work in the hospital, and have ptsd from traumatic childbirth, i am not good with nether region stuff.
I just want to stay at home.
Pain is gone.
I wouldnt make it yo a&e anyway, xant stay off the loo that long

OP posts:
ChocolateCoveredlissielou · 20/04/2011 19:05

but, it could be serious. you need to be checked out.

IngridBergman · 20/04/2011 19:23

Do you have a temperature?

IngridBergman · 20/04/2011 19:23

and if it does get worse overnight someone will come out to you if it's that bad.

IngridBergman · 21/04/2011 08:29

How are you Mossy?

mosschops30 · 21/04/2011 08:41

Much better this morning, think it was a bug, was vomiting and the other until 10 ish. Shivering and freezing even though dh said i was boiling.
Have terrible pain everywhere this morning but just think it from heaving.
Thank you so much for asking, and for all the advice last nigjt Smile
