what is wrong?

My 2.5 yo has a cough and a bit of a temp at mo...its manageable but he has ben crying since we put him to bed at 7 complaining of "hurting my nose". I don't even know what to do for him now...and tbh his moaning is driving me mad(hence being here instead of there with him....i need a small break)

Has anyone any clues at all?

Sinuses? Have you given him anything for it?

maybe his nose is blocked up? maybe he has put something up his nose?

check to see if you can see anything up there!

have you given him anything? calpol/nurofen etc?

sinus infection? conjested and can't breathe properly?

Wild guesses in the dark tbh Have you got any of those karvol capsules around you could put on a hankie for him in his room and see if that helps him sleep? If you haven't given him anything paracetamol based, I'm a big fan of medised (paracetamol + decongestant which also makes them drowsy)

looked up there, nothing there, he was snotty a few days ago but seems to have stopped today.

Calpol'd him and Karvol'd his pillow(he won't have it on him) also vicks'd him just now see if taht helps.

sounds like sinusitus to me. you wouldn't necessarily be able to see anything. not sure when children can take the over the counter stuff for this so might be worth a visit to the gp.

mmmm i thought a visit to DR wopuld be the case, seeing as i can't even ring till 2mo i thought i would see if anyone had any quick foxes

Poor lad if it's a sinus infection - that is painful (just got over one myself). Have you got any nurofen? This can be given as well as calpol. I'm asking, because the gp told me to take ibuprofen for the inflammation. That, together with the antibiotics she prescribed worked a treat.

pmsl - You've not seen the size of B's bed!!! I might make Boy sleep there though...

try boiling a kettle in his room. If it is sinuses, this will unblock them, making it slightly easier for him.

hes due more medicine now so going to boil the kettle and give him ibuprofen(best i can do at this hour) thanks for all posts apprieciated

How's he doing now?

Last night i ended up sleeping with him from about 5ish just to stop him waknig little un up and DP.

He was fine at breakfast and went to Playschool fine...came home had alittle bit of lunch, went for a (little)sleep and woke up the devil incarnate!! he has cried ALL evening and i'm, not joking.

Hes having horrible dreams...i know coz i can here him moaning.
|He sounds all hoarse and his cough is much worse...is wheezy now too

Wondering if the dream thing is because he has just started playschool this week(Wed and Thur).

No DR will come out either to my address now, its too dark and hard to find at night. Apparently the last time one came it took so long to find the gate that he could have seen another 3/4 ppl
