Diagnose my DH

For the last few days DH has been complaining of severe stomach pain. DS had a vomiting bug over a week ago and I had it a few days later. We assumed initially that's what it was but he's had no vomiting or diarhroea. He is not typically one to complain and usually just gets on with it. (I'm the one who gets man flu!)

Anyway, the last couple of days he's been fine on waking and through the day - no loss of appetite - but the pain has returned late afternoon and he's taken to bed by 6ish the last 2 days with little or nothing to eat. Last night he said pain was not just tummy but in his testicles and rectum. He's taken paracetamol.

Don't know if it's relevent but he's recently started cycling to work (10 miles each way) which he used to do regularly (not for at least a year) but the pain started on a day when he'd got the bus.
He's not one for going to the docs but I'm due DC2 in 9 weeks and (selfishly!) I need him fit.

Don't want to google. So what could it be?

could it be prostatitis?
my dh suggers from this and has flare ups every now and again. the GP likes to do rectal exams, proclaim he is " a bit swollen" and give him antibiotics

Don't think so as he's not got any pain on urination. Don't know about the last thing (did I mention being 31 weeks pg Grin)

I'm worried about an ulcer as it seems to affect his appetite but not his digestion.
