When does the hair loss stop?

Hi, my son is 4 months now, and I am still losing hair by the handful. It's really beginning to worry me, as I have very fine hair - and not much of it! I know that you grow extra hair when you're pregnant (apparently, though I never noticed that I had thicker locks...), but I am sure I am losing WAY more than I grew...

is there a point when I should talk to a doctor about it, or is this still quite normal?

Thanks

I'm 7 months postpartum and I'd say it finally eased us about six weeks ago.

I don't think it's so much that you grow more hair when you're pg, more that your normal hair loss/shedding stops, so when you have the baby there's a whole load of hair that needs to shed at once.

I think it was about 6m for me as well, and I also have very fine hair, but it never got to a point of actually looking thinner than it normally did, iyswim.

My baby is 6 months old now and my hair loss which had been seriously scary from 3 months PP stopped at 5 months. I've usually got very thick hair so I lost tons which actually blocked the plughole each time I washed it. I've now got little tufty bits growing back! Hope that's reassurance that it should stop soon.

Ah, that is reassuring. Thanks ladies. I don't think my hair looks noticeably thinner, well, I didn't until I started to convince myself that it MUST look thinner, so much was coming out. Okay, U shall wait it out. Thanks again
