May be vertigo? Makes room spin, particularly when you move your head or neck. Can be due to inner ear imbalance. Medication and exercises can help.

High alkaline phosphatase - don't google it. I've had it all my life. It can mean nothing at all.

Have you got a headache? You do need to go back to the GP, OP.

OnlyWantsOne · 17/04/2011 20:43

I really dont want to go back. Feels like it's all in my head Bevause it's nothing I can show outward symptoms

You should go back to your GP because sometimes it takes you to push things to find out what's wrong. Do you have any other symptoms - even minor ones?

OnlyWantsOne · 17/04/2011 21:45

No not really. None that I can think of

Yes I get head aches and flashy lights, sickness, dizziness and feeling weak

I had this, and was sure it was labyrinthitis. In retrospect I think it may have been caused by anxiety - it became a self-fulfilling prophecy iykwim.

follyfoot · 17/04/2011 22:02

OnlyWantsOne, please go back and ask/insist to be referred. Not sure which specialty, but maybe at least they should be getting you an MRI.

Shitmagnet, you are the first person I've come across with vesibular neuritis - I've had it for over 20 years now. I was lucky enough to be working in an ENT theatre at the time it began so insisted on being referred to a fab ENT consultant who diagnosed it pretty rapidly. Its a right pain, but knowing what to do and what to avoid makes it bearable most of the time.

OnlyWantsOne · 17/04/2011 22:03

What's an MRI and what do I say to my GP when I go back. On quite a whimp

It's a scan which uses magnets instead of radiation. Say you have headache, nausea, visual blurring, weakness, fatigue and you're not getting better.
Tell them you're not able to drive or look after dcs.

Hope it goes well
