I have been bleeding from my bum everytime I have a pooh for about a week now and the blood less is increasing and scaring me. I cannot stop thinking about it. I had a urine test a couple of months back for stomach ache I have been getting when I lean forward, would this test have picked up something like caner?

I am meant to be going away tomorrow and don't want to let the kids down so seeing the doctor tomorrow isn't really an option.

Any reassurance till I get to the doctors on Monday would be much appreciated.

Sorry Methodsandmaterials for being"spikey" I am quite sensitive about my UC. It is one of those invisible illnesses that people do not know about or understand. I keep getting told it must be something I eat or do that causes it or that I get too stressed about thingd. If only it were that simple.(Not by my nearest and dearest I hasten to add just well meaning friends!)
MrsOtter please get checked as soon as you can. Do you need the loo durong the night?(no.2) This is a classic sign of Inflammatory Bowel Disease.
Take care let us know how you are

No offence taken notso. I am sorry to hear about your UC and hope that you're getting the support you need.

I have had bouts of this for a few years. I was admitted to hospital and eventually was advised that I had ischaemic collitis, which is normally confined to the older generation (over 70). The hospital thought it was caused through some migraine tablets (triptans) I had been taking.

However, having stopped taking the migraine medication, I still have bouts of the same. I have come to realise that it happens when I have taken a few pain killers (particularly codeine).

If you are taking medication it could be the cause. Just a thought!!
