dd has never had headlice.......yet, but as she's at nursery 3 days it inevitable sooner or later. have been on tinternet and am now using tea tree shampoo on her and wet combing once a week. in other people's experience, will this help keep her nit free?, is there anything else you can do?

Condition her hair to within an inch of its life, and alwyas make sure it's tied back

yes. send her in plaits if her hair is long enough

you can also get a tea tree spray which you leave in which apparently deters them

ORRR you could shave her head!

Think that's about it really. If you wet comb regularly (each hairwash) with a decent nitcomb (recommend Nitty Gritty one) , then if a dreaded louse does appear, then you will catch it very quickly before it has a chance to settle and lay eggs!
