Please will someone help me? Im going out of my mind and might actually cry in a minute. Paracetamol doesnt help, i did the same bloody thing last july and i need codine and ibuprofen but am 19 weeks pregnant so know theres chuff all chance of getting it.

Last time it went on for a 9 days before i went to the emergency doctor on holiday (we were in torquay), and i cant bear the thought of being in this pain for 2 or so weeks or longer, what can i do? Heat or cold? If i go to the docs, will they give me anything? It does seem a lot easier when im walking around, but sitting still or lying down in torture.

Im not usually this wussy but am in agony.

I had sciatic problems with my last two pregnancies and totally feel your pain. Ended up going to hospital in an ambulance. Anyway I was given a hip brace by the hospital and found that really helped. They also booked me in for nhs physic straight away and I was seen about twice a week. Can you speak to your midwife to see if you can get referred? Heat was my friend and I lay in the bath a lot and used hot water bottles. Massage also helped.
I am 18 weeks pregnant and this time I am trying to be preventative. The best thing I have found so far is piriformis Stretching. If you google it for pregnancy it shows you how to do it. I do it morning and night and can literally feel the muscle saying ahhhh! I also have a back support in the car, try not to sit to much and don't do breast stroke (bad for sciatica). Pilates is also the way forward too.
Lots of luck and hope it gets better soon.

NHS 24 or A&E. Failing that a late night phamrmacy and a kind pharmacist may refer you to the out of hours service.

I was given codeine for when I did my sciatic nerve and I was 23 weeks pregnant. It was the only thing that helped.

I had the same and physiotherapy really did help. I was initially sceptical but was given daily exercises and noticed a big improvement. Sitting on an inflatable exercise ball was also recommended.

sorry - just realised you need help straightaway. The ball did work. I used to gently rotate my hips whilst sitting on it.
