Does anyone know if it's contagious through kissing?
I hope I don't offend anyone with my totally ignorant questions.

My sister-in-law was very ill a few years ago and treated for Helicobacter pylori with long term antibiotics. Apparently she is now ok. (I thought you cant remove it entirely from your system?)

She is here visiting us and kissing my little ones a lot. I felt anxious so googled the question this evening and am coming up with a lot of 'maybe's ie perhaps its passed on through kissing.

Don't know what to do or think -welcome any advice
thankyou

as far as I am aware once you have had the antibiotic treatment for H.Pylori it's highly unlikely that you will get it again and yes the treatment eradicates it from your system. Your sister will have been tested after the treatment to ensure it was eliminated.
My mother had an ulcer for over ten years, before H.Pylori was widely know as a cause. As far as I know myself, my sister and my dad don't carry the bacteria and there was obviously close contact during those years (esp between my parents)

I really don't think you need to worry.
