goingroundthebend4 · 04/04/2011 07:54

Started Monday last week had ,backache in the right side tool some Ibpruphoen and paracetmol and kept going .But by Friday it got worse the pain has got worse is in my back and down my right leg been taking paramol that has dyhycodeine sp? In it from over counter and ibpruphoen but it's not touching it at all am trying keep going much as I can doing stuff in the house

But it's bad enough that walking makes me want to cry and is beginning to be painfully on left side of my back now

Wondering if it is sciatica if do does anyone know how long it lasts

Have pretty good pain threshold normally ( csection after the drug they give you in theatre I only needed paracetmol and was home in 2 days no painkillers at all ) but this really hurts and don't think I can even mange to walk to bus stop to get bus to the Drs then walk from bus stop to the Drs and no one to take me either

No clue at all ironic thing is I have been dieting and swimming and have lost over 2 stone .Still more to go but have been feeling so much better for it

think will try calling dr see if can get emergencey appointment for today normal appointments are at least 3 week wait .Drs is 3 miles away but even if was end of lane I would struggle

Forgot to mention Saturday I took 30 mg of codeine that I had left from when had damaged my hip before Xmas and that did not really help much either so the 7mg that's in each parmol not really working

Sounding like I'm being a wuss but I'm not really it hurts a lot .ds1 is dropping dd to school before collage and is going to pick her up for me .

Plus the GP poking around won't have helped

goingroundthebend4 · 05/04/2011 19:32

Do you think it's worth me asking the gp for something stronger really not touching and it's now running down on my other leg to like someones running a knife over the nerves

The co-oproxmal is only the 8mg per tBlrt su only just stronger than over the counter

second I'm putting weight through standing or walking I want to sob infact had to go hide in my room while I did just that.am trying to do as much as I can so don't stiffen up but my leg just buckled under me

Lying on my stomache is ok it's sore in my thigh but bearable but second I stand takes my breath away :( .Trying to stand up straight but physically can't move my leg like you would when walking

Lying on the bed can pull my leg up like frog then let it flop to the side ok without much pulling at all .I had to resort to using crutches today .Am seeing osterpath tomorrow but should I try for stronger painkillers

oh and the 2mg of dizapan no effect what so ever not sleep or relaxing at all

i have been off work for the last 2 weeks with exactly the same thing. I've been going to a chiro (who are fabulous!) - tramadol didn't do a thing for the pain, went back and was given Naproxen which is an anti-inflamatory which, combined with the chiro is finally working.

My chiro has told me that the best position to help with the pain and with the actual damage itself is lying on your back with your lower legs and feet on the sofa (cue much hilarity from DH) and that really does work. (although you do look something like a dead bug!)

Also, the ice pack is your friend - all the nerves will be seriously inflamed and the ice calms them down.

I have spent a lot of time in the last 2 weeks doing the dead bug thinkg with an ice pack under my back......in the state i was in it was the closest thing to heaven! HTH

goingroundthebend4 · 06/04/2011 15:45

chiro w0nt touch went today to try t bed as he feels theres damage is to the vertbrae themselves which is caused them to collapse and compressing downwards.I have Hypermoblity/Eds type 3

But it hurts and i cant even Pee!!! nt been able to go since last night did tell gp this morning hence the urgent mri mind urgent is when ever
