Just interested as i wanted to see if there was any correlation between people on clomipramine, imipramine, amitriptyline, citalopram, trimipramine and long term side effects on muscle, joints, dry eyes, lupus.

I am not a researcher, I am trying to see if i can talk to my rheumatologist about my theory.

I tried amitriptyline for a while. The lowest dose didn't help, stepped it up and couldn't handle the side effects so gave up. It was tried as I had succesfully used it years ago for Trigeminal Neuralgia.

A year ago I was on long term pregabalin (diff problem) and once I got used to the effects it was brilliant.

hardhatdonned · 01/04/2011 22:11

Amitryptiline is rubbish long term but i too have been on pregabalin (still am) and love it. Just need to get my dosage right and work out how to lose all the weight i've gained from taking it...

alypaly · 03/04/2011 22:25

alypaly - muscle and joint pain since AD though i would have them now i think even if i stopped AD

QueenofWhatever · 04/04/2011 20:16

I was prescribed amitriptyline because I had joint pain. This was about ten years ago and the GP told me that reducing joint pain had been one of the unexpected side effects. I couldn't handle the side effects so stopped.
