Quick, please! Can I take Diazepam before an ECG?

Got an ECG at 9 this morning and I'm really panicking. Sweating, feeling sick etc.

I have some Diazepam which is prescribed to me for things like Dental work, Blood Tests, all things medical infact! Can I take 1 before I go for the ECG just to calm me down a bit? Or will it 'muddy' the results?

I wouldn't as it will slow your heart rate down.

Why are you panicking? It's not a painful procedure.

I have a phobia of all medical procedures, hospitals, the lot. It's really awful and I cant stop myself being like this Sad

I know it's just sticky pads on my chest but as much as I tell myself that, it doesnt help.

I do usually take 2 Diazepam before going to Dentists etc but was only going to take 1 this morning. If you think it will affect results though, I'll try and get through it without.

Hi, it will not make any difference whatsoever to the ECG so take as much as you need.
