Period-type pains, 4 weeks post-natal

DD2 was born just over 4 weeks ago, normal delivery with no complications. Today I've been feeling exactly like I'm about to have my period. I got my period back 9 weeks after DD1 was born despite EBF, co-sleeping etc. but I didn't think you could get your period back after only 4 weeks. Could this just be some kind of late after-pain or should I be worried? TIA.

I think the most likely causes are. . .
AFTERPAINS, these can occur anything up to 6 weeks after birth.

CONSTIPATION is very common after having given birth. Are you drinking enough? Especially if you are EBF you will need to drink plenty

PERIOD it can come back as soon as 4 weeks, although unusual it isn't unheard of. My mum was a HV and had a mum whose period returned 3 weeks after the birth. She went to the hospital as she thought there had been some retained placenta but it was just her period :)

Do you feel unwell? If you have a fever, nausea/vomiting etc with the pain then go and see your GP just to be ob the safe side

Hope the pain goes soon

Thanks, I feel fine apart from the pain. I'll mention it at my 6 week check if it's still going on.
