UTI help please

I think I have a UTI - frequent need to go to the loo for the past few days.

I can't get a doctor's appointment till next Thursday, but, as I am travelling abroad for work meeting for 3 days, I need to get this sorted before I go - I can't be dashing out of meetings every 10 mins to go to the loo.

I am already drinking lots of water, but it's not making much of a difference (yet).

Any non-prescription remedies that might help?

TIA!

Cranberry juice.
Drop a urine specimen at your Doctors today, then the results will be back for the appointment if it's not sorted by them too.

You can get stuff over the counter from the pharmacy called Oasis which is supposed to help. Seem to rememebr it was sachets of stuff that you put in water. Didn't work for me but might for you. Or could You ring your GP again and explain to the receptionsit that you just need a prescription for trimethropin. My GP lets me do this without actually having to see them. But I do get them frequently.

half a teaspoon of bicarb of soda in a large glass of water.
cranberry is good for prevention but may make it sting madly while you have an infection.

i'm sure you could get a same day emergency appointment at your surgery if you tell them it can't wait.

you could also try getting access to prescription for antibiotics via out of hours, which would normally mean going via nhs direct to see OOH GP, usually at nearest hospital.
