post natal periods every 2/3 weeks

I gave birth to my son 6 months ago and ended up with an emergency c-section. I have been breastfeeding him up to now though I top up his last feed with a bottle. I had my periods returning within a week following the post-partum bleeding, which is very unlucky for me but happens. What worries me is that I have my periods every 2/3 weeks, I thought that after 6 months it would have got back to once a month. I tried to talk to friends and other women about it and they all find it strange????Went to see the doctor 4 months ago and he doesn't seem bothered, I would even say dismissive....I find it really annoying as I am worried and wonder if I have a problem? Have any of you experience that and what were you told?

Congrats on your son

This happened to me after my dd in 2009. I bled for 12 weeks, and then had "one week off, one week on" iykwim.

I did have a large fibroid, but no-one could ever say what was going on (and like you, didn't seem overly interested). I was offered the pill to regulate it, but as I wanted to try for another baby I turned it down.

I had dd in the April, and it finally settled in the December.

Second time around everything seems to have gone back to normal (fingers crossed!).

I'd be asking the gp again to look into it further, as I know just how miserable it is. Good luck.
