Hi,

I have a gooey yellowy gunk in one eye. It welded shut this morning when I woke up. I also have a big red threadvein type line on my eyeball. It itches and feels uncomfortable.

I wear lenses and have binned the pair I was wearing and the case I store them in. I'll also bin my mascara and liquid liner obviously.

My trouble is, I urgently need to be able to wear make-up and lenses by Friday. I have a really important all-weekend conference and interview and how I present myself will be essential to this.

What can I do? I'm currently waiting for the doc to call back with a telephone consultation. It doesn't need bathing at the moment so I'm just keeping my hands off it.

What's the prognosis, can I get rid of this in 3 days by Friday? and how?

You can get antibiotic drops for infected eyes from the pharmacy now, same as you used to have a scrip for - I'd get them asap.
