Hi all,
My 2 yo daughter got chikenpox, which I had at about her age. The question is should I stay away from pregnant friends, parents of small kids etc until she is well?
Thanks very much!

Sorry Liza but that is nonsense if you are suggesting that the OP herself needs to stay away from anyone (and sorry if that's not what you meant). An adult who has had chickenpox as a child can't pass the infection from a currently infected child to anyone be it adult or child - there has to be direct contact. This kind of advice really annoys me as it's not based on fact. OP - you should obviously keep your infected child away from pregnant friends, and any children who haven't been infected but other than that you don't need to restrict your contact at all.

Birdy - no, I was assuming she wanted to know if she needed to keep her child away.

You do sound like that sort of 'nonsense' irritates you.
