Worst teething nights from hell stories please..

After a very ropey night I feel the need to hear all your stories about the night from hell?

How did you get them back to sleep when they were yelling with pain?

Did you get any sleep yourself?

nurofen for the baby or calpol. takes 40 mins to work.

DS struggles to teethe and often picks up a virus around the same time which sends his temperature sky-high (up to 41 ).

A combination of Medised and Nurofen work to bring his temperature down and help him to sleep.

Good luck with it - we tried all the herbal teething powders, gels, etc - Dentinox works if he's just teething, but not if he's got a virus as well.

Not much advice but know where you are coming from as we've just had 3 nights of teething plus a bad cold... Have you tried Nelsons homeopathy teething powders? and anesol I think it's called, liquid that you just apply straight to the gums. With DD I just tried to calm her down and just waited till she fell asleep exhausted and no, I didn't get any sleep... even once she was asleep I was just listening all night for the next cry!

my dd was starting to sleep through and putting herself to sleep, but I have just been told when I took her to the nurse for her 2nd lot of jabs that they wouldnt do them as they said she had a virus, which would explain why she now screams blue murder if I try to put her down for a sleep, and I am now having to comfort her to sleep by either cuddling or bf! any advice on how long a virus lasts and will she ever go back to her routine??

Oh and she is also teething tried Dentinox but seemed to have stoped working so am now trying Ashtons powder, but could be that she has a virus????

Is mine the only DS to be immune to Nurofen, Nelsons and all the other teething products on the market?
We too seem to have the virus problem. A couple of days of high temperatures and an everlasting runny nose and night time cough.

Ds has cut 12 teeth since April and I think he's just started cutting his last molars, so we've had very little sleep since the Spring. Most nights he wakes just a couple of times, but other nights he will wake every hour and has a high temperature too. I use the medised or calpol/nurofen combo too and on really bad nights I bring him into bed with us so that I don't have to get up every hour.

Why do they say she has a virus, Deany? Does she have a temperature?

She went for her jabs and I asked my mum to mention that she has a rash all over (apart from her back) and the doctor said that as they cannot actually tell you whats wrong that there bodies tell you!! ie rash temp

my DD has cut 4 teeth this week and i have had several difficult nights. have been using anbesol- a liquid which you put onto your finger and rub onto the gums where the pain is. i suppose it works a bit like bonjela does for mouth ulcers.it does seem to do the trick.

i honestly dont remember either of mine giving me grief with teething. dd had a few ear infections but rarely got up after bedtime.

With ds he smiled one day and there were a set of teeth - they honestly just appeared out of nowhere.
