Weird lip spasms

Wonder if anyone has had this?

Recently my lower lip keeps getting numb and spasming, either it feels like someone is pulling it in or it pouts out, which is embarrassing.

I am tired and stressed and I know you can get twitches in any muscle but this feels more than that and very uncomfortable, like the nerve is irritated.

Am getting pretty worried about it, especially as a top neurologist mentioned I had a tremor of my thumb when she was assessing my DD.

Can anyone advise, from experience? Or any GPs?

TIA Smile

Yes - I get this sometimes and have just added it to the list of weird and wonderful things I will probably never talk to the doctor about! It goes through phases so I'll get loads of spasms for a week and then nothing for a while. I know I have loads of tension in my face - worse when stressed of course so have put it down to that. I also get it in my eyes and eyelids.

I would mention it to doc if you have any other unusual symptoms or if you have the tremor elsewhere.

I get a twitch above my eye lid sometimes, and I was really worried so went to see a GP and optician who advised that the only cure was more sleep. Also, at the time I did a search for eye twitching on 'you tube', and saw that other people have the identical type of twitch. I am less bothered by it now, and it doesn't seem to switch so much. I have just had a check on 'you tube' searching under lip twitching and there are some lip twitchers on there-is yours like these?
