I have had various issues with my left hand since I was a teenager, I have camptodactyly (which is basically a deformed pinky finger joint, but it is now effecting the 2 fingers next to it and they are bending in) I also have carpal tunnel syndrome. I have also had cysty type things grow in the palm of my left hand up near my fingers that i have had surgery to remove.
Anyway about 5 weeks ago I had a hospital appointment as my hand was getting worse, pain, tingling, losing grip and numbness, so i am on the waiting list for a carpal tunnel operation (should be another 4 weeks or so) I was told at the appointment that my thumb muscle was basically wasting away, so the priority would be to save that.
So, over the past week or so, I have noticed a sore tender lump at my elbow (on the inside of the bend, if you know what i mean) that seems to vary in size, it also feels like the muscle in my arm above the lump on the inside feels a bit like it is tense even when i am relaxed, not really sure how to describe it, but this has also happened at the same time as i have started experiencing really bad pain in my thumb.
So i was wondering if anyone in the know about carpal tunnel could advise whether or not the elbow/muscle thing could be related and if everything should hopefully calm down after the op, or whether it is an unrelated thing, and if a trip to the docs is in order?
Thanks!
