I had my gb out by key hole surgery 4 weeks ago. Recovered well and went back to work after a week and been lifting dc etc. All was well but have developed a pain over wkd and particularly bad today around belly button and under right rib. Does this sound like normal recovery pain?

Sounds like you might have done too much too soon. Is it bad enough to take painkillers? If so I'd go back to docs although its most likely inflammation and scar tissue.

Hmmmm.... I had mine out in the same manner and (without wishing to scare you) I had complications that came to light 3 days later.

If I had any post op concerns, I'd head straight to Docs.

See your GP just in case, but sounds quite normal ime.

I had my gallbladder removed last September and still have some pain when doing strenuous exercise, my Gp said this is normal.

Hi, it may be that you have done too much too soon, but you need to check with your dr to be sure. Have you any other symptoms other than the pain?

I had mine out 8wks ago, but won't share my story as it wouldnt be helpful.....(very long story..), .

Let us know what dr says, get an app when you can. There are problems that can arise after the op, but don't worry about them un til you have checked with dr.

You may find that as you have returned to work ealry and lifting dc around that you have overexerted yourself. Take it easy today and rest up and see if resting helps with pain.

Also had mine removed recently, thought everything was back to normal i.e. at work and exercising. I then developed pain in tummy button area. It felt as if the stiches inside were tearing apart and I could barely stand up straight. I took it easy for a few days and everything is ok now.

I've had a number of operations over the years and have learnt never to underestimate the effect it has on your body and the length of time it takes to fully recover. Although you may look good on the outside, there is still alot of healing going on internally.

However, if resting doesn't help or you develope a temperature, get to the Drs asap.

Go to the docs, I had mine out, and even though I felt ok, your insides aren't healed yet and you may have overdone things a bit too early. Just get your doc to check you over and have a feel.

I Was doing really well and perhaps silly on my behalf I went for light jog. Hurt next day and didn't go again, but this week hurts around belly button down right side of tummy and under right rib and now right side of back as well. I suppose near the entry sites. Will try to get to gp tomorrow.
