I just coughed (have been coughing for days) and the pain in my c-section scar was awful.

I have a sick son and a daughter in pain so I can not be in trouble myself. Arghh!

Are you holding the scar properly with two hands when you cough? How old is the scar?

If it's recent, then pop and see GP tomorrow. You need to get it checked out. It's usual for it to feel strained when you sneeze/cough but there shouldn't really be pain.

The baby who came out of my tummy is 10 now but the scar is 8 years and 9 months post op.

I don't get it? How can the baby be older than the scar?

Anyway - the scar defo shouldn't be hurting that many years ago although I guess if it's a bit tight it might?

My episiotomy scar aches 9 years on but has never hurt. I know scar tissue can be painful for a long time afterwards but if it's a sudden thing that has only just happened with this cough and never before, I'd get checked out. Are you sure you don't have a hernia or something?

I had to have it fixed when the baby was 1 as they botched it.

I have coughed since and have been fine so I am hoping it was just a blip.

Ooh - that's not good. Glad it seems okay now though Smile

Thanks, it comes and goes so I don't think it can be anything serious.
